God's Word does not change and neither does He. I cannot fathom the number of people in the body of Christ that will tell people that certain acts of the Lord were only for the days of the 12 disciples and Jesus only. Everything in the Bible is for all days and times unless the Bible says otherwise specifically, as in we are no longer under mosaic law but the law of the Spirit and grace.
Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. Hebrews 13:7-9
If supernatural moves of the Lord were possible when Jesus walked the earth, and nothing has changed because Jesus doesn't change, and the Bible has not said it would, then they are still possible today. Not only does the Bible not say it will change but it also says to all of us that we will do even Greater works than those of Jesus Christ. Notice in this next verse it is because Jesus goes to the Father and because He is no longer with us that we will be able to do these things. It also says that if we ask anything in His name He will do it. Why do we think this does not apply to healings, casting out devils or demons, miracles, and such?
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. John 14:12-14
We are commanded as part of the great commission to do these things here, now, and through all time. this is our job as believers. We all have different gifts but we are to use these supernatural gifts of the Lord for the edification of the body of Christ.
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Mark 16:15-18
There is no such thing as this could only happen in a certain age. This is a doctrine of men. Because of this false doctrine of men many in the body of Christ believe if they see such things it must be of the devil. Jesus knew this was coming just like He dealt with it from the Pharisee and saw to it that it was addressed in scripture.
But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils. And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven. But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth. If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub. And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges. But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you. Luke 11:15-20
The same was stated in Matthew 12:24-28 as well. Satan does not cast out devils. He will not divide his own kingdom. The word of God doesn't lie. God is incapable of lying. Our God still heals, casts out demons or devils, sends prophets, and many other supernatural moves. The gifts in 1 Corinthians 12 are still in full force for those that chose to accept them and believe.
The problem lies in the fact that many believe it is not possible due to false doctrine spreading throughout the church. This false doctrine prevents the body of Christ from fulfilling their job. Some of this doctrine also states that receiving the Holy Spirit and the baptism of the Holy Spirit are one in the same, that speaking in tongues is of the devil, and many other falsities that prevent them from seeking all the Lord has for them. Have you received the baptism of the Holy Spirit so that you can walk in God's power? You can learn more about that by clicking here.
We are meant to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit and do Greater things than even Jesus did here on earth simply because Jesus will work through many of us and can be in many places working at the same time all around the globe. That includes a population that dwarfs the population that Jesus had access to when He walked the earth. Why do you think He tells us to pray for laborers in the field? No one truly wants to accept what God has for them because most simply do not believe it is possible and others do not want to pay the cost associated with publicly walking for the Lord.
Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. Matthew 9:37-38
Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. Luke 10:2-3
Many do not see supernatural moves of the Lord because they either do not believe they are possible by Jesus using a human to do so, or they are not willing to be used themselves. Which one are you? Will you be the one that says here I am Lord send me? Will you walk in the promises of the Word of God or listen to man's doctrine? Will you believe Jesus can still heal today? Will you accept that He still casts out demons or devils by the authority He gives us in Luke 10:19? Will you acknowledge that there are still words of prophecy as it tell us in Acts 2:17-18 and Joel 2:28-29 in pouring out His Spirit in the last days on men and women to do all these things? Will you not accept what man tells you and seek the Lord yourself for the answers about His mysteries?
Seek His face and realize that we all have a job waiting for us and that some of those jobs include supernatural miracles, signs and wonders because anything is possible through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13). Trust the Word of God and tell Him "Here I am Lord send me." Then answer the call of where He sends you. God bless you and may Jesus keep you.
