As Israel Burns…

Many have been evacuated, or injured. The fires have been labeled as arson started by people who have been deemed terrorists to the nation of Israel. Multiple countries including the United States, Jordan, Egypt, and Russia have sent aid to fight the blazes that have spread across Israel. Over 2000 fires have raged on in the past several days. One Image from thegatewaypundit.com shows a Palestinian terrorist starting fires in Israel.

There have been numerous news stories on the subject. Pick any of the following for different views and information from various days of the incident:

There have also been announcements as to the prophetic meaning of these fires. This is not the first time fire has spread over Mount Carmel. Elijah called on God in 1 Kings 18:24-38 as this article mentions. Then in 2010 at almost the same time of year fires raged again as Jerusalem Post reports on the Mount Carmel Fire- The Fourth Day of the Fight. It will be 7 years since that fire exactly 7 days from now. I find that very interesting as 7 is the number of completion in the Bible.

Here are multiple videos provided by The Times of Israel of the current fires and situation.

Though these prophecies have been fulfilled once, we see many examples of prophecy happening in cycles in the bible. For example the harbingers Israel were given before capture by the Assyrians as spoken of by Jonathan Cahn in his book The Harbinger. Perry Stone also has a book that speaks of prophetic cycles called Deciphering End-Time Prophetic Codes. With this in mind, it is possible that we are seeing a second cycle of parts of Amos beginning. I am not declaring that we are but simply bringing the possibility to the attention of everyone. Here is some of the scripture.

2 And he said, The Lord will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.

Verse 2 speaks of Mount Carmel which is what is on currently on fire in Israel. It would be considered in the kingdom of Israel when the kingdoms were divided into Israel and Judah.

3 Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron: 4 But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Benhadad. 5 I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the Lord.

Verses 3-5 speak of Damascus in Syria in its sections as is was ruled then as well as land  surrounding Damascus.

6 Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom: 7 But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof: 8 And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn mine hand against Ekron: and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord God.

Gaza, Ashdod, and Ashkelon still exist in Israel today and have also been the site of frequent rocket fire and conflict. Gaza itself is in ruins from fire and explosions in the conflict in 2014. Ekron is a few miles south of the village Mazkeret Batya in central Israel. As there are still Palestinians in Israel, we could infer that this prophecy is not yet completely fulfilled. 9 Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant: 10 But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyrus, which shall devour the palaces thereof. 11 Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:

Tyrus is the city of Tyre located in Lebanon and Edom is southern most Israel and southern most Jordan including Petra. 12 But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah. 13 Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:

Ammon is still known as such and is central Jordan. It is currently the capital city of Jordan. Rabbah below refers to the actual capital city rather than just the territory of Ammon. 14 But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind: 15 And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the Lord.

2 Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime: 2 But I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kirioth: and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet: 3 And I will cut off the judge from the midst thereof, and will slay all the princes thereof with him, saith the Lord.

Moab lies between Ammon and Edom in south central Jordan today. Of course Judah below speaks of most of southern Israel itself including Jerusalem and Hebron. Whereas Israel would be considered the northern part of modern-day Israel including where Jericho lies. This would include Tel-Aviv, Nazareth, Mount Carmel, Galilee, the northern two-thirds of the West Bank, and Haifa up to the Golan Heights.

4 Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have despised the law of the Lord, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to err, after the which their fathers have walked: 5 But I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem. 6 Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of shoes; 7 That pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father will go in unto the same maid, to profane my holy name:  Amos 1:2-2:7

Obviously not all of these places are included in the fires currently. Fire, by natural fire or rocket fire, has destroyed Gaza and Damascus in the past couple of years almost completely. In the past few days it has ripped through what was considered Judah and Israel (when they were two kingdoms). Tyre and surrounding villages, which would have been part of ancient Tyre, were bombed and badly damaged in 1982, 1983, and 2006 in conflicts between Israel and PLO or Hezbollah.

The fires that burned through Israel could in fact be very prophetic. They are almost all but extinguished now, but that doesn't diminish their possible significance. We must continue to watch prophecy carefully and pray for Israel. There are many prophetic events unfolding before our eyes. Even if these blazes aren't related to Amos, they are most certainly a prophetic sign of turmoil and destruction in Israel. The stage is setting. Is your house right with the Lord?
