Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:19-21
We shouldn't be trying to 'get that money'. Yes we need to take care of our responsibilities, but trying to make so much money that we can buy an excess of things we really don't need is a different story.
For example, do we need a car to get around? Yes. Does it have to be an $80,000 car? No. Do we need clothes to wear and a wallet or handbag for our things? Sure. Does that purse need to cost $500.00 or more, or that pair of pants $150.00. Absolutely not. Do we really need a pool in our yard that cost enough to buy a poor person a house? There is also no reason to have 50 pairs of shoes or 5 cars. For that matter why should anyone have 3 vacation houses when there are thousands that have no house at all in your own area alone? This is building up treasures on earth.
If you have enough money to buy 3 houses then help some people with that money. Feed and clothe the poor. Pay someone's medical bill, or give it to a ministry. Give 20% in tithes instead of 10%.
Rather build treasures in heaven by spreading the gospel, helping the poor, or feeding the hungry. There are many things you can do.
Please help us keep the urgent work of this ministry going by making a donation today. God bless you and may Jesus keep you.
