Before you read this I would ask that you bow your head in prayer and ask God to show you the truth in His word the bible and that He give you His knowledge that you may know what is of Him and what is being taught falsely. Ask Him to show you truth so that you will not be deceived by any man and that you may interpret the bible to His will. Ask these things in the name of Jesus Christ our Savior.
Read this all the way through. If you are deceived by false doctrine it could have dire consequences. He that have ears let him hear. Consider everything prayerfully and do not let what man has taught you get in the way of God's knowledge.
Now we beseech you brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him. That ye be not shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know what with-holdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming. Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all the power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them a strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 KJV
First let's ask ourselves, has the falling away started? Are whole churches inviting you to bring your own god but saying they are Christians?(click here for article) Are whole denominations "voting" to change laws or scripture to fit the lusts of flesh instead of changing the flesh to fit scripture? (click here)( click here too)( and definitely click here)Are people admitting they are no longer Christian?(click here)
Then that leads us to discuss the rest of the scripture. We are waiting for the son of perdition, the antichrist, to be revealed. Has this happened yet? Well let's see. It says that he opposes all that is called God and that he will exalt himself above God. It also says he will sit in the temple of God saying that he is God. Well since the third temple hasn't been built yet that obviously hasn't happened yet. They do however have everything to go in that temple in a warehouse ready to go in Israel as we sit here. Even the altar is complete.( click here for news on the altar)
That brings us to the oh so famous verse 7. Notice in the above scripture I have highlighted some words, so to speak. Many believe this verse is proof of a rapture before tribulation. They say it means the church will be taken out of the way. So let me ask you this. Do you see the word church, or body of Christ in that verse anywhere? Does it say the saints, or maybe God's children? What about brothers and sisters? No? Me either... It say till he is taken out of the way. This verse clearly does NOT speak of the church being raptured so that the antichrist can appear. That leads us to another question. Who is he? For the mystery of iniquity doth already work- means the plan for the antichrist or man of sin(iniquity) is already laid out. Who makes the plans for the world? That would be God. Only he who now letteth will let,- Well who is it that controls everything and lets anything happen? Again, that would be God. So Only God who now letteth will let... We have established the he in this sentence. As a rule in written language every pronoun(he) contained in the same sentence would refer to the very same he, correct? Until he be taken out of the way- meaning until God be taken out of the way. Where am I going with this? How can God be taken out of the way? Well in America alone, we have kicked Him out of school, government, courts, the pledge, the military, and even some churches. We aren't even allowed to preach too much in public anymore because we might offend someone. Does anyone care if we offend God? All across the globe, worship of God and Jesus Christ is being pushed to the privacy of homes like we are ashamed of Him. Is God being pushed out of the way? Most assuredly this is happening. In verse 3 Paul warns us clearly to let no man deceive us. This is very important. If we are deceived by the slightest bit of false teaching it could cause us to be part of the falling away in which verse 10-12 could then apply to us. We must know the absolute truth.
Why is the thought of rapture occurring before tribulation so wonderful? That is simple. If we could say that as saints we wouldn't have to experience anything horrible that will happen during tribulation, then we would jump on it if it were true. Here in lies the problem...if. Is there a pre tribulation rapture? Let's look into that in scripture. It doesn't matter what we are taught by pastors and theologians. What matters is what God says in the bible right? If everything we have been taught about rapture at church is against the bible then we let man deceive us. Let us get our answers from God and scripture and no where else.
Luke 9:23 tells us -And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow me.
When we take up our cross, we take on suffering, pain, trials, and tribulations just as Jesus did. So why would we be exempt from the tribulation at the end of days?
Behold, he cometh with the clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen Revelation1:7 Could this be rapture? Well it says shall twice. This would mean it isn't happening in the vision at that moment, but is being announced that it will happen. The rest of the vision speaks in present tense so we know by the future tense used in this verse alone that it isn't happening right then.
After I looked, and behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. Revelation 4:1 Some say this is rapture. The pronoun I is singular. Revelation was written by John, so I would refer to the writer. After John looked,...voice which John heard... So the voice told John to Come up hither so that it could show John the vision of the things to come in the last days. This is not rapture.
The New Testament was accepted as part of the canon by middle of the 3rd century. The Easter Letter of 367 presented the books we have in the bible today. It was presented by Athanasius of Alexandria. At this time there was no teaching of a pre tribulation rapture to be found. For almost 1500 years this was not doctrine and was not supported. As a matter of fact we saw no evidence of any teachings of a pre tribulation rapture until 1830 A.D. when John Darby invented the notion himself as part of the Calvinism movement.
You say, now wait a minute 1 Thessalonians 5:9 tells us- For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen, isn't that awesome? So when is rapture?
The seven seals are broken in Revelation chapters 6,7 and 8. Six of the seven trumpets are sounded in chapters 8 and 9 in Revelation. Chapter 10 is a sealed prophecy and 11 tells us not only about the temple being rebuilt but also of the two witnesses, and the seventh trumpet. Chapter 12 speaks of the devil being cast down from heaven and signs in the heavens that will be present shortly before chapter 13 can occur which is when the saints whom are still here(?) have to choose whether or not to take the mark of the beast. As a matter of fact there is reference to the church still being here in the fifth seal persecution (Revelation 6:9-11), the seal of the living God ( Revelation 7:3- tribes, 7:9- for gentiles multitude) those that came out of the Great Tribulation (Revelation 7:14- which must be pre rapture because once the son of perdition is revealed everyone not already saved will be forced to worship him, so there can't be any new Christians after that. Revelation 13:8),make war with the saints( Revelation 13:7) and in the patience of the saints(14:12). Finally we come to Revelation 14:14-16 when earth's harvest is ripe and Jesus reaps... the rapture. This is followed by the seven bowls or vials of God's wrath in chapter 16 which we are most assuredly not here for. Just as He promised we are not appointed to wrath. You ask how are the seals and trumpet not us suffering wrath? We are subject to persecution, or our own cross that he asked us to take up and follow in Luke, but not the trials, which brings us back to Luke.
And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you they shall cause to put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake. But there shall not an hair of your head perish. Luke 21:16-18
Yes we will be persecuted, but none of the things God sends to this earth will harm us. He promises to send His angels to protect us. Psalms 34:7-9
The truth of it is, scripture doesn't support a pre tribulation rapture. The devil wants you to believe you have been left behind like the fictional movie series so that you will fall away. He hopes that you will think, what is the use I didn't make it so I might as well do whatever I want. THE DEVIL IS A LIAR!!!! He comes to steal kill and destroy. He will do whatever he can to take God's truth from you and destroy your salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. Rapture will happen, but not until the middle of the Great Tribulation. It will actually be virtually over. Be prepared to carry your cross. Prepare your house and have the conversation with your family that you will have to take the mark of the beast or be beheaded. There is nothing to fear. God is your refuge. If you are beheaded you will live forever and if you choose the mark you will burn forever. If you are not a born again Christian then repent and change your ways so that you will have the protection of Jesus Christ. He is the only safe place. God bless you.
