Can I Lose My Salvation?

We start at the beginning of the New Testament, in Matthew. These first books are the gospels, the words of Jesus Christ himself included. The question at hand is can we lose our salvation. Is it once saved always saved? As always we get our answer from scripture, the word of God. You must always pray and get your instruction through a combination of the Holy Spirit and word of God. You are responsible for your own interpretation of the word of God. Let Him guide you through the scriptures we address. In the end you will stand at judgment by yourself with Jesus. There will be no pastor to say, well I taught them this and it's not their fault. You have access to a bible and can read for yourself. Let's see what the bible says. For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.      Matthew 6:14-15 This follows the Lord's prayer and is very clear. God will not forgive your sins unless you forgive others of their sins. This is supported also in: But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.  Mark 11:26 Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.   Matthew 7:21-22 Not everyone that calls on the Lord will enter the gates to the kingdom of heaven. Only those that DO God's will may enter. Next we will look at a very crucial parable. For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.  And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. And likewise he that received two, he also gained another two. But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money. After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. And so he that received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them. His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter into the joy of thy lord. Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. For unto everyone that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. When the Son of man shall come in is glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he shall sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred , and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Then shall he say also to them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick,or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then he shall answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.     Matthew 25:14-46 God knows each of us, as saints, have different levels. Some of us are babies in Christ, and others mature. Some of us have different abilities, gifts, and places in life. He knows what each of us are capable of and expects us to act accordingly. That's why to one he gave five talents and another two and another only one. Jesus has gone away for a long time. When He returns, He expects us to show something for our work. We are expected to not come to Him empty-handed. This does not mean salvation by works. We are saved by grace, by faith in what Jesus did for us on the cross, but faith without works is dead. We must take what He has given us and sow seeds for the harvest, do is work, lest what He has given us be taken away, and though we were saved, be sorted to the left with the goats because we didn't act like a servant of the King. We must be doers, not wicked and slothful servants. There will be no talking our way out of it and fear is not an excuse. Don't expect to go before the Lord and say I was afraid. I was afraid I would offend someone, of being persecuted, of losing family and friends. That isn't going to be acceptable and there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. But he that heareth and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately, it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.   Luke 6:46-49 You can call on the Lord all day and night, but if you do not the things He says you build your house on the sand or earth. It will fall immediately and your ruin will be great. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.  John 15:2 If you don't bear fruit God cuts off the branch. Who will render to every man according to his deeds: To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first and also the Gentile; But glory, and honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also the Gentile:                   Romans 2:6-10 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.            Romans 11:22 If you do not obey truth, God's word, and continue in it, you will be dealt with, with severity, and cut off. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? James 2:19-20 Nevertheless  I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.                                       Revelation 2:4-5 Now here Jesus is speaking to John telling him to write this letter to the church of Ephesus. He is speaking to those that are already saints and are not acting right. He said repent or He will remove their candlestick out of his place. His place is heaven, so they will lose their salvation if they don't repent of what they have done and return to Him, not get saved the first time. He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name in the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.     Revelation 3:5 When you read  Revelation 3: 1-6 in context you see Jesus speaks to the whole church at Sardis. He tells them to remember what they already received and heard and repent because there are very few names that have not defiled their robes after they were washed clean by the blood and still walk with white robes and are worthy. It says in verse 5, I will not BLOT OUT his name. That means it can be blotted out once it's there. Plain words right there say it is not once saved always saved. Jesus will blot your name out. And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them to me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one.   John 10:28-30 Now these verse are used to say that it is once saved always saved, but look very carefully. The KJV specifically italicizes the word man in the red words of Jesus. Not once but twice. It says no man can pluck them out. Amen. It says nothing of the Father or Jesus not willingly kicking them out or as in the next verse says spueing(vomiting) them out. I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would that thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.                Revelation 3:15-16 If you are found lukewarm you will be spit out of the body of Christ. In the NKJV it actually says vomited out. Lukewarm or fake Christians, those that are hearers but not doers, those that are wicked and slothful servants, those do not obey truth, that heareth the sayings but do not doeth them, that build their house on the sand, that bury their talent in the dirt, and do not forgive others will lose their salvation and the grace of our Lord and Savior. If you take the mark of the beast Revelation 14:9-10 says you will drink the wrath of God. We will end with one of the last verses in the bible. And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things that are written in this book.  Revelation 22:19 You most certainly can lose your salvation. You can't say the prayer and continue to go clubbing, and having sex outside of marriage. You can't get saved and continue to be homosexual, or a drunk, or do drugs, or a thief. Repent means go and sin no more. Any preacher that tells you after you get saved that its okay you're still going to mess up all the time, that's why we have Jesus. If he tells you,  you need to have a reason to ask forgiveness on Sunday, or you can act how you want all week as long as youre at church; HE IS A LIAR AND LEADING YOU TO HELL! It's time to find a church that actually cares about your soul and will tell you the truth.  You most certainly can lose your salvation. In another post we will address what happens if you do and how you behave if you are truly saved. Will you donate today and help us reach as many as possible. God bless you and may Jesus keep you.
